Out of bounds
OOB is beyond the boundary walls, hedges, fences, white stakes and white lines, including the listed left and right hole boundaries, the protection fence behind the 7th green and the river beside holes 8 and 17.
Penalty areas and 8th pond
Yellow and red penalty areas are marked by stakes or lines. The pond in front of the 8th green has the additional option of dropping in the designated dropping zone for one penalty stroke.
Wrong green at 5th
For wrong-green relief from the 5th green, the adjoining bounded general area is included; an additional free-relief dropping zone is available left of the 5th green.
Ground under repair
GUR includes marked areas, white-lined areas, vehicle damage, stone-filled drainage ditches or channels, and piles of grass cuttings or leaves.
Immovable obstructions
Artificial roads and paths, bridges, protective netting, staked trees, course furniture and the OOB stakes beside holes 5 and 14 are immovable obstructions as specified.
Temporary rules and safety
Temporary rules are on the notice board. The general penalty applies for breach; give priority to green staff, follow safety procedures and observe hole 4/13, 9/18 and 10th-tee arrangements.
Out of bounds at defined boundaries and facilities
Out of bounds is defined by walls, hedges, fences, white lines/stakes and the listed course facilities; additional hole-specific boundaries apply at holes 1, 2, 5, 8, 9, 11, 14, 17 and 18.
Penalty area at holes 8 and 17
The yellow penalty area crossing holes 8 and 17 coincides with the out-of-bounds edge; the pond before the 8th has an additional dropping-zone option under penalty.
Wrong-green relief at the 5th
When taking wrong-green relief from the 5th green, the adjoining general area bounded by the club’s line is included in the wrong green.
White stakes at holes 5 and 14
White stakes on the right of holes 5 and 14 are boundary objects only during those holes; during other holes they are movable obstructions and Rule 15.2 relief is excluded.
Immovable obstructions near greens
Model Local Rule F-5 applies: an obstruction on the line of play within two club-lengths of the green and within two club-lengths of the ball can create Rule 16.1b relief, subject to the unreasonable-line exception.
Integral objects
Artificial retaining walls and pilings in penalty areas, and gates used to pass through boundary walls or fences, are integral objects.
