Out of bounds – course boundary
Out of bounds is defined by fences, galvanised posts, stakes or white lines defining the course boundary.
Internal out of bounds – hole 10
For hole 10, the left side between holes 10 and 18 is internal out of bounds, identified by white lines or stakes.
Ground under repair and protected trees
Blue-staked or white-lined areas and trees marked with blue tape are ground under repair.
Animal holes – stance-only interference
Mole or vole damage does not provide relief when it interferes only with the player’s stance.
Immovable out-of-bounds stakes when playing hole 18
Stakes defining hole 10 out of bounds are immovable obstructions when playing hole 18.
Integral course objects
All course paths, nearby irrigation hoses and mesh attached to the out-of-bounds fence are integral objects.
Preferred lie – scorecard length
When the placement rule is in effect, a ball in closely mown general area may be placed within one scorecard length, not nearer the hole.
