Local Rules
Banners and signage
Banners and signage are movable obstructions under Rule 15.2; if they cannot be easily moved, they become temporary immovable obstructions under Model Local Rule F-23.
Player conduct
Serious misconduct contrary to the spirit of the game may result in disqualification; the published penalty structure escalates from warning to one stroke, general penalty and disqualification.
General penalty
Unless otherwise stated, breach of a Local Rule carries the general penalty: loss of hole in match play or two penalty strokes in stroke play.
Preferred lies
When the ball lies in the general area inside the green-distance markers and other green pole markers, the player may prefer the lie within one club-length.
