Local Rules
Marked Bunkers as GUR
Bunkers marked by a stake are designated GUR; relief outside the bunker without penalty is available under Rule 16.1. Other bunkers remain bunkers.
Ground Under Repair
GUR is marked by white lines or stakes, with stakes taking priority; areas marked GUR play prohibited require relief under Rule 16.1.
Protective Fence Left of Hole 5
The fence left of hole 5 is integral to the course and gives no free relief; Rule 19.2 unplayable-ball relief remains available with one penalty stroke.
Immovable Obstructions
Specified greenkeeper paths, protective hoops, ropes, stakes, yardage discs, sprinkler heads, covers, bell posts, ball washers, protected trees and permanent fences qualify for relief under Rule 16.1.
Out of Bounds
Beyond boundary hedges or fences and the inside points of white OOB posts is out of bounds; electric badger fences are also OOB.
Preferred Lies
When activated, a ball touching fairway-height-or-less general area may be placed once within 6 inches, not nearer the hole, after marking; the rule permits cleaning the ball.
Artificial Tee Mats
When tee markers identify an artificial mat, the teeing area is limited by the mat and the player must stand on it; breach is the general penalty.
Wrong Green Fringe
When relief is required from greens 3, 5 or 10, relief is also required within two club-lengths of those greens.
