Fescue penalty area
All fescue within the course boundaries, including paths cut out of the fescue, is played as a red penalty area. A player may take an applicable one-stroke relief option or play the ball as it lies.
Sprinkler head relief
Relief up to one club length from a sprinkler head is available when it is within two club-lengths of the green and ball, clearly on the line of play, and the ball lies in a tightly mown fairway area.
Out-of-bounds boundary
The boundary of the golf course is out of bounds and is marked with white stakes.

Blue Tee Strategy
Choose tees carefully; the course offers a wide range of distances and the championship tees are highly demanding. On uphill or plateaued greens, favor the safe side and account for the false fronts and surrounding bunkers. The 17th plays uphill into prevailing wind to a shallow, three-tiered green; treat par as a strong result.
