Local Rules
Buggy-sign impact
If a ball clearly strikes a buggy sign, the player may replay the stroke from the original position without penalty.
Player safety
Shout fore when a ball could endanger people or is lost from view; follow course signage and marshal instructions.
Out of bounds
Out of bounds is beyond white stakes, boundary walls, fences, hedges, practice areas and maintenance areas under Rule 18.2.
Preferred lie
In adverse conditions the competition committee may introduce preferred lies and define its scope.
Penalty areas
Penalty areas are marked by yellow or red stakes under Rule 17.
Local-rule penalty
Breach carries loss of hole in match play or two penalty strokes in stroke play.
Immovable obstructions
Artificial roads and paths, drainage grilles, steps, permanent buildings and internal walls are immovable obstructions with free relief under Rule 16.1; the left side of the 10th fairway is a penalty-area exception.
Bunker care
Rake bunkers, replace divots and repair pitch marks; keep buggies and trolleys away from tees, greens, ropes, lines and sensitive areas.
