Local Rules
Sprinkler Heads, Drains and Drainage Covers
All sprinkler heads, drains and drainage covers are immovable obstructions. Relief under Rule 16.1 applies for stance or swing; extra line-of-play relief applies when the obstruction is within two club-lengths of the green and the ball is within two club-lengths of the obstruction, subject to the stated nearest-point relief limits.
Ground Under Repair
Areas marked with white paint, bunkers containing GUR signs, flower beds and marked winter greens are no-play zones. Relief without penalty must be taken under Rule 16.1.
Immovable Obstructions (Rule 16)
Wooden tee surrounds, winter tee mats and bases, course furniture and artificial paths are abnormal course conditions with relief under Rule 16.1. The 5th green woodwork has a specified drop zone on the apron when at green level; below green level, Rule 16.1 relief applies.
Winter Tee Mats
Where present, winter tee mats comprise the teeing ground. The player must stand on and play from the mat; its front edge defines the front of the teeing ground regardless of the wooden tee markers.
Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)
Out of bounds: in or beyond any boundary hedge or fence; the car park, putting green, clubhouse buildings and surrounding footpaths; the practice-ground trench right of the 18th and its marked continuation; and left of the white stakes bordering the 14th fairway.

Two-tier greens The signature two-tier putting surfaces require careful distance and speed control. Boundary features White stakes, fences, paths and the practice ground define several specific out-of-bounds areas. Chalk slopes Rolling chalk terrain can produce uneven lies and changing approach angles.
