Out of bounds – white stakes and hole 7 internal boundary
Out of bounds is defined by white stakes. When playing hole 7, the right side bordering hole 8 is out of bounds for tee shots; the black-and-white stakes are boundary objects for the tee shot and immovable objects for other shots.
Red penalty areas – holes 12, 13 and 14
The red penalty area behind hole 12 and on the left of holes 13 and 14 extends indefinitely.
Bunker furrows caused by running water
Bunker areas where flowing water has removed sand and created deep furrows are abnormal course conditions.
Protected young trees
Young trees marked by support stakes, netting or protective tape that interfere with stance or swing provide relief without penalty.
Road along hole 5 is integral
The road along hole 5 is an integral part of the course; there is no free relief.
Motorised transport during competition rounds
During a competition round, players and caddies may not use motorised transport unless authorised by the committee, with stated exceptions.
Scorecard certification in competitions
For a competition round, an uncertified scorecard incurs the general penalty, applied to the last hole of the round.

A long signal suspends play for dangerous situations; three repeated signals suspend for other reasons; two repeated signals indicate resumption.
