Out of bounds boundaries
Boundary ditches, hedges, fences, practice green, car park, specified paths, ornamental wall/patio and 1st-hole paving are out of bounds.
Boundary stakes and grips
White lines, grips and white stakes define boundaries; black-top white stakes only indicate the boundary and may be moved, then replaced.
Ground under repair
White-line areas, water-created bunker furrows, deep vehicle ruts and fairway-height cracks are GUR with free relief.
Exposed bunker linings
Exposed bunker linings are immovable obstructions; relief is allowed for stance and ball.
Artificial paths and course furniture
Artificially surfaced roads, paths and bridges, the 3rd-tee mesh fence, rain shelters and course furniture are immovable obstructions.
Immovable obstructions near greens
MLR F-5 gives Rule 16.1b relief for an obstruction on the line of play within two club-lengths of the green and ball, unless clearly unreasonable.
Young trees
Young trees identified by stakes or guards are no-play zones; Rule 16.1f relief is required, but line-of-play interference alone does not qualify.
Aeration and turf seams
Free relief is available from aeration holes/lines and seams of cut turf in the general area or on the green.
No-play zones and ropes
Newly seeded areas and the marked bare-earth/bush area behind the 4th green are no-play zones; protective ropes/stakes are movable and must be replaced.
