Out of bounds holes 8, 9 and 12
Parts of holes 8, 9 and 12 use fences with white-painted tops as out of bounds; otherwise white stakes mark the boundary.
Out of bounds definition
Out of bounds is defined by the line between the course-side points of the posts at ground level.
Penalty areas
The red penalty area left of hole 5 and the red areas behind greens on holes 7 and 16, defined on one side only, are infinite; double red stakes mark the start and end.
Ground under repair
Areas identified by blue stakes or otherwise marked as ground under repair qualify; blue stakes with green tops identify no-play zones treated as GUR.
Scorecard certification
In competition, an unsigned hole result incurs the general penalty, applied to the last hole of the round.
