Green-headed stakes mark no-play zones. On holes 9 and 10 biotopes, the ball may not be played as it lies and relief under Rule 16.1f or 17.1e is required.

White stakes mark out of bounds; white lines take precedence, and a ball beyond the road behind green 15 is out of bounds.

Yellow or red stakes/lines define penalty areas; where both exist, the line governs.
