Out of bounds
Out of bounds is marked by white stakes or white lines on holes 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18; white lines take precedence. The course-side edge of roads and paths on holes 17 and 18 is also out of bounds.
Penalty areas and hole 4 drop zone
Red or yellow stakes/lines mark penalty areas. An optional drop zone before the water hazard on hole 4 must be used when a compliant relief point under Rule 17.1 cannot be determined clearly.
No-play zones and biotopes
No-play zones are marked by green-headed stakes. Do not play a ball as it lies; take relief under Rule 16.1f or 17.1e. Environmental biotopes must not be entered.
Abnormal course conditions
Ground under repair is marked by white encirclement or blue stakes; where both are present, the line applies. Marked plantings, gravel/sand-filled drainage ditches and freshly laid turf also qualify.
Woodchip and bark surfaces
Artificial surfaces laid with woodchips or bark mulch are part of the course and are not an abnormal course condition.
Suspension and resumption signals
One long tone means immediate suspension; two consecutive tones mean resumption; three tones mean cancellation. Breach of Rule 5.7b is disqualification.

Regulations
Practice-stroke restriction
In stroke play, no practice stroke may be made near or on the green of the hole just completed, and a ball may not be rolled to test the green. Penalty: general penalty.
