Out of bounds
Out of bounds includes marked paths around clubhouse, professional shop, trolley shed, car park and practice areas, plus boundary fences and hedges. White posts with black tops are movable obstructions.
Protection of young trees
Staked young trees are no play zones; relief is required under Rule 16.1f when they interfere with ball, stance or swing.
Relief from exposed tree roots
Exposed tree roots on or within two club-lengths of the fairway qualify for free relief under Rule 16.1b; stance-only interference does not.
Immovable obstruction near putting green
Relief under Rule 16.1b applies for an immovable obstruction within two club-lengths of the putting green and ball and on the line of play, unless clearly unreasonable.
Ground Under Repair no play zone
GUR encircled by a white line and identified by a blue stake is a no play zone; complete relief is required under Rule 16.1f.
Suspension of play signals
One long klaxon blast signals danger suspension; two short blasts signal other suspension; multiple blasts signal resumption.
Decorative planted areas
Decorative planted areas bordered by logs are abnormal course conditions from which play is prohibited; relief is under Rule 16.1f.
