White markings are out of bounds; red markings penalty areas; blue markings ground under repair; blue stakes with green top indicate ground under repair with no play.
Distance markers
All distance markers are treated as immovable obstructions; relief is available under Rule 16.1.
Newly planted trees
Newly planted trees are no-play zones; relief under Rule 16.1f is required when the tree interferes.
Ant hills
Ant hills may be treated as loose impediments or ground under repair at the player’s choice.
