Course Character
Expect a traditional layout that mixes mature trees with open native areas and rolling terrain; the setting rewards visual awareness and disciplined positioning. Quail Dunes is an 18-hole, par-72 public course on 165 acres beside the South Platte River. Its tree-lined fairways, rolling ground, native areas and wildlife sanctuary setting give the course a distinctive northeastern Colorado character. Major Risks
Native areas and wildlife habitat The course contains extensive native areas, so offline tee shots can quickly become difficult recovery situations. Tree-lined fairways Trees narrow some landing corridors and can block the next shot when position is lost. Rolling terrain and wind South Platte River exposure and rolling ground can change carry, rollout and club selection.
Blue Tee Strategy
Check wind and effective carry before selecting clubs. Favor fairway corridors that keep native areas and trees out of play. Use center-green targets when rolling ground reduces predictable bounce. Position first from the Blue tees
