Out of bounds
Out of bounds is on or beyond any boundary wall, fence, line of white posts or line of white paint defining the course boundary; on or beyond the road right of the 6th hole; and on or beyond pathways surrounding the clubhouse, including the clubhouse, greenkeepers compound and car park.
Penalty areas
Yellow penalty areas are identified by yellow posts or stakes; red penalty areas by red posts or stakes. Where lines are used, the lines define the margin; otherwise the margin follows the natural ground break forming the depression containing the water.
Abnormal course conditions and immovable obstructions
Ground under repair is any area encircled by a white or blue line. Immovable obstructions include all artificially surfaced paths, the metalled road running east to west across the course, the rockery adjacent to the putting green, and the pump house and surrounding wall behind the 7th green; balls must not be retrieved from the pump house area for safety.
Immovable obstructions close to putting green
When a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is on the player’s line of play, within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball; relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b unless the chosen line of play is clearly unreasonable.
Tree stumps
If a player’s ball is in the general area and there is interference from tree stumps, the tree stumps are treated as ground under repair and relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b.
