Cart paths and maintenance roads
Cart paths and maintenance roads are treated as immovable obstructions; free relief is available under Rule 16.1b.
Out of bounds: stakes and fences
White stakes define OB on holes 1, 2 and 3; the white fence defines OB on holes 1, 12, 13 and 18.
Alternative relief for lost ball or OB
A second relief option is available for a lost ball or OB under Model Local Rule E-5, with two penalty strokes.
Wrong green relief
A ball on any green other than the green being played, or its fringe, requires free relief.
Root relief
A root in the fairway or within four club lengths of the fairway edge permits free relief; elsewhere play it as it lies or use Rule 19.2.
Waste areas are general area
Prepared sand areas on holes 2 through 8 are general area, not bunkers; no relief is available for footprints, hoof prints or embedded balls.
No general relief between creek and road
Between the creek and road there is no general free relief; use unplayable-ball or embedded-ball relief when applicable.
