Goodwood Downs: Out of Bounds
On The Downs, OOB is beyond the wall left of the 1st, within the underpass stake-defined area, and beyond all boundary fences; Rule 18.2 applies.
Goodwood Downs: Penalty Areas
Red penalty areas are on holes 4, 6, 14 and 17; yellow on hole 2. The path-side 4th/6th area is defined by the far-side path edging. Two drop zones operate on hole 17 for the corresponding penalty areas.
Goodwood Downs: Abnormal Course Conditions
White-lined areas, roads, constructed paths, irrigation covers/sprinkler heads, animal holes and remaining irrigation-project damage marked by GUR/white line receive Rule 16 relief, including specified close-to-green line-of-play relief.
Goodwood Downs: Protection of Young Trees and Plants
Staked young trees and protected cowslips/orchids require free relief under Rule 16.1 when they interfere with stance or intended swing.
Goodwood Downs: Hole 17 Drop Zones
For a ball in or virtually certain to be in the specified hole-17 penalty area, the player may use Rule 17.1 options or the corresponding drop zone with one penalty stroke; wrong-place breach carries the general penalty.
Goodwood Downs: Preferred Lies
Preferred lies are not generally in operation, except holes 2 and 3 on The Downs. Where applicable, one free placement is allowed in fairway-height-or-less general area; the club page leaves the relief size unspecified.
