Out of bounds
Out of bounds are marked with white stakes; the boundary is defined by the line between the course-side points of the stakes at ground level.
Penalty areas
Penalty areas are marked with red or yellow stakes or plates.
Ground under repair and no-play zones
Blue stakes or other designated markings identify ground under repair. Blue stakes with green tops identify a no-play zone treated as ground under repair, requiring free relief under Rule 16.1f.
Immovable and movable obstructions
Fairway distance markers and wildlife fences are immovable obstructions; yellow-black posts marking 150 metres to the centre of the green are movable obstructions.
Motorized transport in competitions
During a competition round, players and caddies may not use motorized transport unless the committee permits it, with the stated exception for players holding home-club permission.

Regulations
Weather suspension and scorecards
A dangerous-situation suspension is signalled by one long signal; other suspensions by three repeated signals; resumption by two repeated signals. In competition, an uncertified scorecard incurs the general penalty, applied at the final hole.
