Prohibited play zones
Green-headed stakes mark prohibited play zones. Entry to the zone at hole A5 is forbidden and is serious misconduct.
Abnormal course conditions
Path crossings at A2, A3, A9 and B7 are abnormal conditions rather than part of the penalty areas; relief is available under Rule 16.
Fresh turf and drainage trenches
Freshly laid turf and drainage trenches that are not yet grown in are ground under repair even without additional marking.
Artificial-sod bunker walls
Bunker walls covered with artificial material are part of the course/ground, not an obstruction and not part of the bunker.
