Waterfowl droppings
Waterfowl droppings may be treated at the player’s choice as loose impediments or ground under repair; relief is not available when only stance is affected.
Electric out-fence relief
A ball within two club-lengths of the electric out-fence may receive free relief under Rule 16.1 from the specified reference point.
Ground under repair
White circles and/or blue posts mark ground under repair; if both exist, the line governs. Freshly laid turf, water-eroded bunker ruts and cracks in fairway-height-or-lower areas are also ground under repair.
Near-green obstruction
Relief under Rule 16.1b is available when an immovable obstruction on the line of play is within two club-lengths of the green and ball, subject to full relief and a reasonable line of play.
Out of bounds
White posts or fences mark out of bounds; white lines prevail. On Parkland, the road and all land right of hole 8 and behind hole 15 are also out of bounds.
Suspension signals
One long tone means immediate suspension for danger; three repeated short tones mean stop after finishing the hole; two repeated short tones mean resume play.
