Tie-break in handicap stroke play
Ties in handicap stroke play are decided using playing-handicap method, then the mathematical method, then a draw.
Temporary local rules
Temporary local rules are posted at the first tee noticeboard and on the club website.
Red penalty area at hole 5
The red penalty area on the left of hole 5, defined on one side only, extends infinitely.
Out-of-bounds stakes
Stakes identifying out of bounds are treated as immovable even if they or part of them can be moved.
Default local-rule penalty
Unless a local rule says otherwise, breach carries the general penalty: loss of hole in match play or two penalty strokes in stroke play.
Tie-break without handicap
In stroke play without handicap, the winner is decided by hole-by-hole play-off starting on hole 10, then 17 and 18; other places use the mathematical method.
Unmarked ditches and ponds
Unmarked ditches and ponds are treated as red penalty areas.
Competition tees
In club competitions men play from tee 56 and women from tee 47 except in the club championship; stated age and handicap exceptions apply.
Scorecard submission
Unless competition conditions say otherwise, submit the scorecard to the competition office; it is submitted when the player leaves with both feet.
Prize collection
Unclaimed prizes at the ceremony pass to the next prizewinner.
