Out of bounds
Out of bounds is defined by the inside edges at ground level of white stakes, perimeter fence posts and retaining walls, including the course-side edges of specified drains and curbs. A ball crossing a public road and coming to rest beyond it is out of bounds.
Penalty areas
Penalty areas are marked by red stakes or lines. Optional drop zones are established at holes 3 and 13 and carry a one-stroke penalty.
Sprinkler heads and irrigation covers
If the ball is within two club-lengths of a sprinkler head or irrigation cover that is within two club-lengths of the putting green, line-of-sight relief may be taken under the stated dropping procedure.
Pond-side obstruction
If the ball comes to rest against the object that keeps balls from rolling into the pond on the far side of the pond, the provided drop area may be used with a one-stroke penalty.
Hole 16 drop area
The drop area on the right side near the forward tees on hole 16 is only for a ball that comes to rest against the grate leading to the pond; one-stroke penalty applies.
Cart paths and storm drains
The paths on holes 3, 10 and 16 are treated as cart paths for rulings, so relief may be taken accordingly.
Red flag policy
On a hole designated Red Flag, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and placed anywhere in the general area on that hole only. On other holes the ball must be played as it lies.
Lost ball or out of bounds alternative
Outside CCRB competitions or club events, a player may take a drop in the nearest fairway spot within two club-lengths of the fairway edge, no nearer the hole, from where the ball is deemed lost.
