Abnormal ground conditions
Abnormal ground conditions such as cracks in the general area allow free relief under Rule 16.1b: nearest point of complete relief, one club-length, no nearer the hole and in the general area.
Sunken drainage trenches
A ball in or touching a sunken drainage trench, or a trench interfering with stance, permits relief without penalty under Rule 16.1.
Flooded bunkers
For a flooded bunker where relief cannot be taken inside the bunker, the bunker is treated as ground under repair and relief may be taken outside without penalty under Rule 16.1; if complete relief is possible inside, the ball may be placed in the bunker.
Blue pipe at the 7th ditch
The blue pipe in the 7th ditch is treated as a movable obstruction under Rule 15.2; relief is one club-length in the same area and no nearer the hole.
Preferred lies
When in force, preferred lies E-3 allow a ball in closely mown general area to be lifted, cleaned and placed within 6 inches, no nearer the hole and not in a penalty area or bunker.
Motorised transportation
During a competition round, a player or caddie must not ride on motorised transportation unless authorised or later approved by the Committee under Model Local Rule G-6.
